If you are having trouble figuring out where your cursor is you can enable an option to always show the cursor in the options menu.
I fell through the floor in a couple of areas and I would have needed to reload to continue playing. Click the PC icon in Cheat Engine in order to select the game process. The most useful option is ctrl + 9 for helping out when something goes wrong.
